In 1939, the new 6C 2500 Alfa Romeo was introduced to replace the old 6C 2300B. The new model was very similar to the previous one but had a higher performance with increased horsepower (95 bhp) and better gearing for a higher to speed. The sport type had a 5-seat body manufactured by outside coachbuilders and mounted on a 118 inch wheelbase chassis. There was also a Turismo model with a 128 inch chassis.
The Sport Touring shown above was a winner at the 1998 Pebble Beach Concours, taking the top awards for both European Class and Most Elegant Closed Car. In 2005 it was valued at $550,000.
