This is a 1930 Auburn Boattail Speedster Custom built in 1998 under Terry Cook's guidance over a period of six years to Chip Foose's concept and design. This dramatic custom is based on the same 127-inch pinch wheelbase which carried the original Auburn 8-98A Speedster. Refined and exaggerated, it carries some of the same features which made the Auburn Speedster one of the most recognized and cherished designs of the classic era. Long hood, suicide doors, to its tapered tail, elongated teardrop fenders, boattail body and clean, elegant design are common elements shared by both. This is a true speedster, the only weather protection is a steeply raked vee-windscreen; there is no top, no windows and no side curtains.
